How does Nordmould's manufacturing partner network work?

Nordmould operates as the single accountable partner for every order. Production runs through a vetted network of EU-based injection-moulding facilities matched to the job by capacity, tonnage and capability. The buyer signs one contract, deals with one contact, and benefits from EU jurisdiction throughout — regardless of which facility is used.

What exactly is the Nordmould partner network?

Nordmould is not a single factory. It is a managed service that sits in front of a network of qualified EU moulding facilities. When an order is placed, Nordmould selects the production site that best fits the part geometry, material, volume and lead-time requirement. The buyer is never involved in that selection and never contracts directly with the facility.

This model is deliberate. It lets Nordmould offer a broader capability range — different clamp tonnages, specialist secondary operations, varying capacity — than any single facility could provide alone.

What does the buyer get from this model?

One contract, one contact. The buyer's legal agreement is with Nordmould. Nordmould is responsible for delivery, quality, packaging and confidentiality. There is no second entity to manage, no foreign-language supplier relationship to navigate.

EU jurisdiction. Every contract is governed by EU law. IP ownership, data handling, and dispute resolution all operate under the same legal framework the buyer already works within.

Capability breadth. By spanning multiple facilities, Nordmould can handle a wider range of part sizes, materials and secondary operations — ultrasonic welding, insert moulding, over-moulding, surface grinding — than a single-site moulding shop.

Capacity resilience. If one facility faces a constraint, Nordmould can route compatible work to another site. Buyers do not see this — lead times and contacts remain unchanged.

How is IP and confidentiality protected?

Every facility in the Nordmould network operates under a standing NDA before receiving any customer files. Design files, STEP geometry, tolerances, and commercial terms are not disclosed to any party outside the controlled supply chain.

Buyers sign a single confidentiality agreement with Nordmould. Nordmould holds and enforces the downstream obligations. The production facility is not named in any buyer-facing document.

This means Nordmould's network model carries the same IP-risk profile as sourcing from a single EU manufacturer — and a considerably lower profile than sourcing from outside the EU, where contract enforcement is slower and less predictable.

How are production partners qualified?

Nordmould selects facilities based on documented quality processes, tooling capability, machine condition and on-time delivery history. Partners are evaluated before being admitted to the network and are reviewed on an ongoing basis against quality and delivery outcomes.

Buyers requiring regulated production — for example, medical-device components with ISO 13485 traceability requirements — should confirm at enquiry stage, and Nordmould will confirm which facility and tier is appropriate.

Does the model add cost or lead time?

No. The partner-network structure does not add a layer of lead time or cost that a buyer would not face with a directly contracted moulding shop. Nordmould's margin covers network management; the buyer receives a single written quote that includes tooling, production and any secondary operations — with no hidden handling fees between tiers.

Lead times run from four to eleven weeks for tooling, depending on aluminium versus hardened steel and part complexity — consistent with direct-source Baltic and Nordic injection moulding.

Frequently asked questions

Who is legally responsible for my order — Nordmould or the factory? Nordmould is the single contracting party and bears full responsibility for delivery, quality and confidentiality. The production facility is not party to the buyer's contract and is not disclosed.

How does Nordmould protect my IP and design files? All production partners operate under NDA with Nordmould before receiving any customer files. Buyers sign a single NDA with Nordmould; Nordmould enforces downstream confidentiality obligations across the network.

Can I visit or audit the factory producing my parts? Factory visits are not part of the standard model. Nordmould conducts its own supplier qualification. Buyers requiring in-person audits for regulated industries should discuss this at enquiry stage.

What happens if one facility has a capacity problem? Because Nordmould routes work across multiple vetted facilities, a capacity constraint at one site can be absorbed by transferring compatible work to another. Buyers see no change — Nordmould manages the transition.

Are the production facilities inside the EU? Yes. Nordmould's partner network operates within the EU, covering the Baltic and Nordic region. EU jurisdiction applies to contracts, data handling and IP enforcement.

Does the network model affect lead times? No — lead times are set by Nordmould at quote stage and are not affected by which facility produces the parts. Aluminium tooling typically delivers in four to eleven weeks from tool order confirmation.

What tonnage range can the network cover? The partner network is selected to cover a broad clamp tonnage range. Confirm the tonnage requirements for your part at DFM stage — Nordmould will match the right facility.
